👋🏻If you don’t already know, my name is Kristen and I am the founder, CEO, design director, and primary maker at Planet B.
🐔My husband, Seth, and I have 2 dogs, 5 cats, 5 ducks, and 23 chickens, and are constantly adding more… oops. As a result of having so many pets, we recently launched a line of sustainable pet products Planet B Pet
👗I have a bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Fashion Merchandising, and Business, and spent roughly a decade working in and around the fashion industry. I wore just about every hat one can wear while remaining in the same industry and had the rare opportunity to understand what was going on behind the scenes of every stage of bringing a mass-produced product to market. The more time I spent in fashion, the more I recognized the negative impact the companies I worked for were having on the environment.
🌎I felt a calling to give back and repair some of the damage I had played a part in creating, so I began researching more sustainable ways of living and making an effort to reduce my own waste at home… and because things in my household have a tendency to spiral out of control, it resulted in Planet B.
♻️While our output of waste is nowhere near zero, my husband, Seth, and I make an effort every day to take small steps towards reducing our carbon footprint. It is my goal to help educate others on the importance of caring for our planet while showing them that lowering the amount of waste they produce is not as hard, expensive, or intimidating as “zero waste” can sound!
5 fun facts about me:
🌱I love to garden and have been growing my own food in some form for about 12 years.

🤪I don’t take myself too seriously and am always game for weird/silly nonsense
🧬 I have a genetic condition called Hypermobile Ehlers Danlos Syndrome that affects the connective tissue in my body and once fractured my spine by putting my shoe on the wrong way
