🧡🖤A Nubian Notion, Inc. received the very first copy of New Edition’s first album titled Candy Girl hot off the presses. It was hand delivered by producer Maurice Starr to Arnett, our then music specialist. Maurice Starr’s recording studio was just blocks away from us.

🧡🖤In their early days, New Edition group members were hairstyled by barbers from our barbershop A Nubian Notion Inc. Beau Brummel at 67 Humboldt Ave., Roxbury.

Much love to New Edition! This mural is from a famous photo taken locally that we’ve all seen multiple times if you grew up here in Roxbury.

We are proud to see this mural added with other historical Roxburians in Nubian Square!
