Our annual tattoo flash sheet is here! Angel Amores & πŸ¦‡π–‘π–†π–šπ–—π–Šπ–“ π–‡π–”π–“π–“π–†π–ž πŸ¦‡ from 4thstreettattooco will be tattooing here during our birthday party this Saturday June 20th from 2pm-8pm! $100 cash only, arms & legs only. The sign up sheet will be available in person starting around 1:30pm as they are setting up ✨

Luke B. Goebel + Julie Buntin + Teresa Wasson = an iconic gathering. We had the best time hearing these 3 read from their novels and talk through their work with us. We have signed copies of K*LL D*CK by Luke Goebel, and MARLENA by Julie Buntin in the shop (and we recommend preordering her upcoming novel FAMOUS MEN!). Thank you to these three authors for bringing some magic to the shop, and thank you to Blondie for being adorable.

Is there anything better than a freshly stocked New Release table on the last Tuesday of spring?! There are so many beautiful books here: a special illustrated edition of Babel, and a stunning edition of the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.

Bookseller Chelsea is also so excited about Tropesick: β€œ Lauren Okie knows how to write people falling in love despite the odds stacked against them.”

Can you believe Sidetrack is 4 years old?! We are going to be celebrating all day Saturday June 20th with cake, drinks, gift bags, bookish flash tattoos from our friends at 4thstreettattooco (flash sheet coming soon!), and fun vibes all day. The Caboose: Sidetrack Bookshop for Kids is also getting involved in the fun! Come meet our favorite Blue Heeler πŸ‘€ and get free glitter tattoos for the kids from 11am-12pm! Did you know that tomorrow night we have Luke B. Goebel, Julie Buntin and Teresa Wasson together in the same room? It’s going to be an incredible discussion that we feel so lucky to host! Luke’s book is already a bestseller, Julie’s upcoming novel Famous Men is on all of the buzzy Anticipated Reads lists, and Teresa is a Detroit-local writer with a great novella, Blame it On Nikki. They’ll be reading, signing, and chatting, and we hope to see you there.

Elizabeth Briggs and Aniela Poray were founding RO civic leaders. Aniela was the second woman elected to the RO city commission. Elizabeth was director of the RO Public library. They raised 3 foster children together. They were dedicated to public welfare, community progress, and tolerance. They lived quietly, earning respect through their work and dedication to the people of RO. In honor of Pride month, let's remember those who made RO the city we proudly call home today.
