Sorry for those who were confused, but Mailchimp failed at sending our email through the socials the way I thought it should look, so here's another take that's easier to figure out...

Aloha Friends of the . Just keepin you in the know; we decided last minute to take the kiddos out exploring the before the school year starts back up again. We will be adventuring in the majestic Tiadaghton Forest District from Sunday the 16th to Wednesday the 19th. We will be open again Thursday the 20th at 10am to help you reconnect with nature. Since we’ll be gone a couple days, and to help you save some money for those school supplies, we decided to extend the sale till the end of the month!

Aloha my fellow Keystone outdoorsians, so stoked to keep you in the know on our shop’s doors officially being open now for 5 years at 155 Railroad Plaza!

A passion’s seed was planted while hangin’ around skate and surf shops as a grom. That seed burst through it’s shell to become a full blown dream while working at the world renowned Summit Hut in Tucson. Some decades later, witnessing first hand the corporate demise of a large East Coast outdoor retailer, that dream grew real thoughts, those thoughts sprouted ideas, and roots of determination began to take hold! Then, even after many watery observations of discouragement, including a world-wide pandemic, that seed planted long, long ago, found the perfect landscape in the borough of Royersford, to expand it’s forest of ideas and passions.

5 years ago today, our family opened the doors to that dream and at the same time that dream opened our family’s hearts to our amazing community of outdoor enthusiasts. You are exactly why we started this adventure and you are exactly why we are still here adventuring beside you…5 years later! To show our appreciation we are discounting all our Apparel and Outerwear 20%. We are also marking down Footwear 20% - 50% - 70% Off! All Camping Gear will be 10%! Select Paddling Gear will be up to 40% Off! Rentals, and special orders are excluded from the sale.

And here's a little before and after pic for ya...oh the places we'll go....we'll move mountains!

John Muir once wrote, "Nevermore, however should one faint by the way who gains the blessings of one mountain day; whatever his fate, long life, short life , stormy or calm, he is rich forever." Rich has taken on such a different symbol since those days of Nature's discovery. Once named the land of the free, now just the land of financial greed. You know what to do people...let our voices be heard! For John, for you, for tomorrow's children of all that live on this beautiful planet - our only earth! https://app.oneclickpolitics.com/campaign-page?cid=6NLK5gEz468wpwt5YKS1a&fbclid=IwY2xjawTEyepleHRuA2FlbQIxMABicmlkETF2UFR2cGNTcnl6RU5pVVFFc3J0YwZhcHBfaWQQMjIyMDM5MTc4ODIwMDg5MgABHoj3pefGvlnvH5cui9HoZroeKFrsEwIL-Srj5JBdto6dQQApA1kEUM720wDP_aem_nBxv1G23w-ptwWtniDyDAQ

Disappointed would be an understatement to describe how we feel. Yesterday’s proclamations to reduce the boundaries of Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante national monuments were not mere “modifications” — they were steps to erase their existence by cutting over 90% of their current area.

We stand strongly opposed to these actions taken by the Trump administration. This move was framed as “improving public access”. But the lands were already public — hiking, climbing, hunting, rafting and motorized recreation on designated routes were already allowed. What the proclamations do mostly clearly is open almost 3 million acres to for mining, development and sell-offs.

National monuments belong to the people, not to private interests. They’re ancestral homelands, not commodities. We stand with the Tribes, communities and partners that have fought to protect them, and will continue to fight for their existence.

Our public lands are not for sale. Get involved and sign the petition: https://app.oneclickpolitics.com/campaign-page?cid=6NLK5gEz468wpwt5YKS1a

Stoked to get the fam out to show them one of my old stomping grounds.

The Birdsboro Climbing Quarry aka The Bird...formed from quarrying PA Diabase (Black Granite) the hardest rock in the world and the passion of a few amazing local hard chargers that started bolting the walls back in 1993. The Bird became the local crag for all who loved outdoor climbing, especially sport climbing. As the years past more amazing hard chargers kept the spirit alive and continued in the tradition of bolting the walls to bring us to where we are today. Cable bridges meant no more wading through cold Hay Creek! Eventually, even the balancing act of a Ringling Brothers tightrope walker, turned into a casual stroll across a legit concrete and steel walking bridge! Though the "Other Side" is now closed (3rd pic - currently the only pic I could find), new walls were opened to accommodate the masses, as they still to this day fill the walls with dangling ropes and carabiners in this almost surreal environment located in southeastern PA.

Only now do I realize how lucky we were to have The Bird as the local crag to help us train for some of the world renowned hot spots we would visit.

Yes that's a police helicopter down by the reservoir, that was crazy! Please be reminded, they have the right of way. Also do not vandalize, it really sucks to have to clean up other peoples carelessness and disrespect! CLIMB ON!!

Stoked to get back up north to visit our friends at The Kayak Centre of RI to pick up our newest addition to the kayak quiver, the Mocean Ranger on it's first trip to the East. Turns out the rockstar, Brad Knickner, who helped me load all the boats in the rain, is a fellow Keystonian from Potts-Vegas!

And we figured since we were there we'd bring back a few extras for our amazing paddling customers and a few for our southern friends at Annapolis Canoe and Kayak.

We invite you to stop by the shop in Royersford to see them in all their beautiful watercraft glory! With the Ranger officially here we now have the full Mocean line up! Including the ones that started it all - the Scout and the Scout XC, the award winning Ace, and of course the winner of my heart, the perfectly designed 14.5' Ranger! Mahalo nunui Michael and Nancy, you build some beautiful boats for us all to enjoy!

Stoked to get out with Corey and Steph, whom most of you know through SLY FOX B**R, to tick off their last section of the in PA! We couldn't have asked for better hiking weather! A chilly 39° at night made for perfect sleeping weather, day break brought sunny blue skies with the highs around 72° with a light breeze blowing through the trees just enough to keep the bugs at bay! Saw a bunch of hard chargin thru-hiker aiming for the halfway point which is just north of Pine Grove Furnace. Talked to one hiker who said Maryland was rockier than PA 🤣😂(if you're not familiar with the terrain down there, it's not insanely rocky like the northeastern part of PA that all Keystonians know is where boots go to die)...didn't have to heart to tell him of the tumultuous ridgeline he was about to literally stumble upon for the next 2 weeks, sorry my braddah it's a right of passage. The native laurels were in full bloom, the ferns carpeted the forest floor like a 70's s**g rug, the babbling of the brooks kept the time, while the sun kissed its highlights through the dense canopy, glistening off the vibrantly diverse shades of greens that would make the Pantone color wheel creators scratch their heads. The Hemlocks, the Oaks - so may Oaks, the Tulips, the Maples, the Pines, the Sassafras, the Rhodies, the Laurels, the Birch, and I swear I even saw a Chestnut! Simply put, the natural landscape of the Keystone State is absolutely astonishing!
