Celebrate National Black Business Month at the 6th Annual Virginia Black Expo on Saturday, August 22 at Main Street Station in Richmond.

✨ Soulful Sunday ✨

Last Sunday after church, I changed into a different pair of shoes and immediately thought, "These are the shoes I should've worn!" It's amazing how one small detail can completely elevate a look.

It reminded me that sometimes we don't need more—we just need the right fit and the right perspective.

Several women also asked where I got my dress, which is the perfect reminder that Renee's Boutique isn't limited to what's in my studio. The clients pictured here are wearing special-order pieces I selected just for them. 💕

Community, I’d love to see you this Saturday!
I’m excited to share an opportunity for us to give back and sow meaningful seeds into our youth — the future of tomorrow. This Saturday from 11 AM to 3 PM, the Greene Dragons Youth Football & Cheerleading organization will be hosting a fundraiser at the Harley Davidson store. It’s going to be a wonderful time of fellowship, fun, and community connection.

I’ll have a vending table with Renee’s Boutique custom fans, Family Card Games, and information about my services and the refreshed direction of my business. As many of you know, I’m now operating out of my home studio in Ruckersville, and it brings me so much joy to support my own neighborhood. Anything that supports the growth, strength, and well‑being of our children is something I will always stand behind.

✨ A Quick Update About My Google Business Profile ✨

I want to take a moment to apologize for any confusion surrounding my business address on Google. As many of you know, I closed my Charlottesville showroom in January 2025 and transitioned to operating out of my home studio here in Ruckersville.

Since then, I’ve been working through ongoing issues with Google to remove or hide the old showroom address. Each time I make the update, my entire profile risks being suspended, which has made the process slow and challenging. If you’ve ever gone to the former location looking for me, please know I am truly sorry for the inconvenience — that has never been my intention.

Even though my studio is now in Ruckersville, I remain deeply connected to the Charlottesville/Albemarle community. I still meet with clients in Charlottesville, collaborate with local businesses and organizations, and continue serving the women and families who have supported me from the very beginning. Charlottesville/Albemarle will always be a meaningful part of my work and my heart.

If not now, then when?

Almost 12 years ago, I was scared to start my business. My husband looked at me and asked, "If not now, then when?"

I didn't have a good answer.

I was afraid of failing.

Afraid of leaving the security of a paycheck.

Afraid of what people would think.

People reminded me the economy was bad. They told me retail was failing. They said it wasn't a smart decision.

They were right...but so was God.

Because what looked risky to everyone else was the very thing that led me to purpose.

I've learned that fear doesn't disappear before you move. You move anyway.

And every single time I've taken a step in faith, God has met me there.

Not with every answer—but always with enough grace for the next step.

Today, I can honestly say I'm thankful for the struggles because they taught me to appreciate the victories.

So if you've been sitting on that dream...

Write the plan.

Take the class.

Schedule the meeting.

Move your feet.

Don't let fear become a dam to your overflow.

Yesterday was a beautiful reminder that when you walk in purpose, God continues to open doors.

Grateful to Jona Hall, Ayanna Mitchell and Jackie Martin for the opportunity to be part of two impactful events, and it was wonderful reconnecting with Tomeria Jordan.

And to end the day, my fortune cookie offered the perfect reminder: 🥠 "Love deeply, but remember to love yourself." I think we all need that reminder from time to time.
