Icy conditions are present throughout the Village of Ruidoso, creating hazardous travel conditions on roads, sidewalks, and bridges. Travel is not recommended at this time. If travel is unavoidable, use extreme caution.

The Village Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is currently activated at Level II – High Readiness and is coordinating response efforts across the community. Public Works, Police, Fire, and partner agencies are monitoring conditions and addressing hazards as they arise. The Village is also closely coordinating with PNM to monitor power conditions and respond to any weather-related impacts.

National Weather Service Weather Update:
Periods of freezing rain and freezing fog are expected to continue until midday. There is moderate confidence that snow and sleet will mix with freezing rain from midday through the early evening. The first of two weather systems will then shift east, allowing precipitation to change to all snow from late evening through mid-morning Sunday. Lighter snow showers may linger at times through midday Sunday. Additional ice accumulation is possible, and updated estimates will be shared as they become available.

Residents and visitors are encouraged to stay off roadways when possible, allow response crews to work safely, and check on neighbors who may need assistance. If you encounter trees or large debris blocking roadways, please report them to Ruidoso Area Dispatch so crews can respond safely and efficiently.
