Hummingbirds are more than just beautiful visitors — they’re important pollinators that help support healthy gardens, wildflowers, and ecosystems.

One of the biggest myths about feeding hummingbirds is that they need red nectar. They don’t! In fact, adding red dye or colored nectar provides no benefit and may pose health risks. What actually attracts hummingbirds is the color of the feeder itself.

🧡 Orange feeders
🩷 Pink feeders

These bright colors mimic the flowers hummingbirds naturally seek out for nectar.

For a safe and simple homemade nectar:
✨ 1 part white sugar
✨ 4 parts water
✨ No red dye, ever

Small changes can make a big difference for these amazing pollinators. Keep feeders clean, offer fresh nectar, and plant native flowers whenever possible.
