REMINDER WE ARE CLOSED TODAY ⚾️🧢

🚨 FRIDAY CHAOS ANNOUNCEMENT 🚨

Wellllll I made a wildly responsible business decision to close the shop tomorrow, Friday, August 7th, so we can load up the kids and take them to watch the Royals play the Cubs ⚾️

Could I have planned this sooner... yep!
Did I....absolutely not.....
Am I now rearranging my entire life because apparently baseball and family memories are more important than responsible scheduling....also yes 🤣

If you need flowers for tomorrow GET YOUR ORDER IN TODAY as we will still be running Friday deliveries...I just wont be at the shop because I will be out spending $74 on stadium nachos and dippin dots while pretending to understand every call the umpire makes.

So to sum it all up we will be CLOSED Friday, deliveries will still happen as long as they are called in TODAY and I’ll be back Monday....sunburned, overstimulated, and financially ruined by stadium concessions but Ill be 97.34% ready to touch flowers again. 💙⚾️

We’re officially entering back to school shopping season, and I have one question...

Where is everything I bought last year?

The scissors, the highlighters, the 48 pencils, AND THE GLUE STICKS...SO MANY GLUE STICKS ... they could build a three bedroom ranch entirely out of construction paper and still have enough left over for 2 car garage..... OH AND don’t forget the water bottle....You know, the one we replace six times a year because apparently there’s an organized water bottle crime ring operating inside the school 😂

None of it came home.

Are the schools quietly building a second school out of our missing supplies...because at this point, they should have enough materials to add a west wing 😂

Have you started shopping yet, or are you waiting until the night before like the seasoned professionals we are?

Anyway, I'll be here 10 - 4 because somebody has to finance the glue stick warehouse and my children's ongoing water bottle replacement program 😂

Every Monday I unlock the flower shop with absolutely no idea what kind of week this town is about to hand me....

could be birthdays and new babies.

could be 3 funerals and a man standing at the counter saying, “Sooo… I messed up.”

could be completely dead until 3:42, then the entire town suddenly remembers they need flowers before 4.

That’s the fun of a flower shop. There is no such thing as a typical Monday basically, I unlock the door and wait to see whether the day calls for congratulations, condolences or a card that says, “Please don’t leave me.” 😂

So lets do this! The flowers are fresh and I’m emotionally unprepared and I'll be here until 4 😂

OR BETTER YET.....

Buy yourself the flowers and tell everyone they’re from a mysterious admirer who is successful, emotionally available, and definitely not from around here because this is Russell and someone would already know his grandma 🤣Then maybe Monday you'll get the...“I heard the gossip about your new boo and honestly…and I need more details” flowers from the nosy neighbor.

We're here until 4:00 if anyone needs flowers for the above mentioned reasons or something even more clever we got you and can't wait to hear what you come up with 😉

👯‍♀️ HAPPY INTERNATIONAL FRIENDSHIP DAY 👯‍♀️

And before anybody starts in on me...I swear I am not making these days up just so I can sell you flowers...Look it up yourself 🤣

Today is for the friends who know entirely too much and have somehow decided to remain legally associated with us anyway.

The friend who will:
Answer the phone with “What happened?”
Help you investigate someone using nothing but a first name and one blurry profile picture.
Tell you the truth when your outfit is terrible.
Listen to the same story for the 47th time and still gasp in all the correct places.
Immediately holds a grudge against anyone who has wronged you, even after you’ve forgiven them and moved on...because friendship has a longer memory than forgiveness 😂

If you have a friend who has survived your questionable decisions, emotional breakdowns, bad relationships, unhinged voice messages and the occasional “Are you awake?” text at 11:43 pm... today would be an excellent day to send them flowers.

Or at the very least tag them below so they know their years of unpaid therapy have not gone completely unnoticed 💐

🚨 A LOVING DAHLIA INTERVENTION 🚨

Its Dahlia season and Dahlias are gorgeous.

I love them....you love them....brides love them...your grandma loves them....and Pinterest has convinced everyone they need 46 of them casually spilling out of every arrangement.

But heres your girl about to get real with you... dahlias are expensive, dramatic and built with the emotional stability of a toddler holding the wrong color cup .

They don’t ship particularly well. They don’t have an especially long vase life. And because we live in the middle of Kansas...not next door to a field of freshly cut dahlias...they may arrive after a long journey looking like they’ve been through a divorce.

Can I order them? Absolutely.

Do I wish I could buy them by the truckload and sell them for $1 a stem? Also absolutely.

But if you’re working with a budget, trust your girl when I suggest something else. I’m not trying to crush your floral dreams...I’m trying to keep you from spending $100 on four flowers that may wake up tomorrow and choose death. 😂

💐 THE FLOWERS WE DON’T TALK ABOUT ENOUGH 💐

I don’t post much of our funeral work...honestly, there’s already enough heavy stuff in the world, and I want this page and the shop to feel like a happy place....a place for pretty flowers, ridiculous stories and a little break from everything else going on.

But the truth is, sympathy work is a huge part of what we do, and it means more to me than I probably ever say out loud.

These pieces are never just flowers....
Sometimes they’re filled with someone’s favorite colors. Sometimes the family brings me a pair of work gloves, a piece of rope, wheat grown from the fields they worked their entire lives, a collection of CDs or something else that would look completely random to anybody who didn’t know them.

But their people know...

They know the stories behind those little things, and I get the incredible responsibility of turning them into one final gift that actually feels like the person they’re saying goodbye to.

I pray before every piece I make. I pray for the person it honors, for the family walking through one of the hardest days of their lives and for my own hands...that I can create something worthy of the trust they’ve placed in me.

I don’t share these pieces often because they belong to some of the most private and painful moments a family will ever experience.

But I want you to know that they’re never “just another order” here...every color, every flower and every strange little detail is chosen with a whole lot of thought, love and prayer.

Being trusted with this part of someone’s story will forever be one of the greatest honors of what I do ❤️
