On behalf of everyone at The Closet Boutique, we are excited to share some big news.
At the end of 2026, The Closet Boutique will close its doors, marking the end of an incredible chapter in Downtown Russell.
While this news is bittersweet, it's also something worth celebrating.
If you've ever met Mandy Funk, you know her heart has always been bigger than her business. Whether she's organizing community events, supporting local nonprofits, mentoring fellow business owners, championing Main Street, or simply showing up whenever someone needs a helping hand, Mandy has never stopped investing in Russell.
Earlier this year, she was honored as the May 2026 Russell Community Impact Award recipient, a recognition that perfectly reflects what so many of us already know: her impact reaches far beyond the walls of The Closet Boutique.
As Mandy closes this chapter, she'll be able to devote even more of her time and energy to Main Street development, community projects, and the volunteer work she's so passionate about. While we'll miss seeing The Closet Boutique on Main Street, we're excited to watch Mandy continue making a difference in the community she loves.
We're also thrilled to share that 727 N. Main Street won't stay empty for long. Russell native David Friday will bring Friday Art Factory and his barbershop to the space, filling it with incredible art, creativity, and new energy. We couldn't imagine a better person to continue the story of this building.
To every customer, friend, and supporter who has walked through our doors over the years, thank you. You helped make The Closet Boutique so much more than a boutique—you made it a place of friendship, laughter, and community.
Please take a few moments to read the attached press release to learn more about this exciting transition.
Thank you for supporting The Closet Boutique, supporting local businesses, and supporting Downtown Russell.
The best is still ahead. ❤️
