Hey y'all, due to weather we will not be at The Gypsy Farm Fair today. This was an extremely difficult decision to make, but with upwards of 5 inches of rain and the likelihood of severe afternoon storms forecasted for our area we've decided that sitting this one out is going to be the best call for our livelihood and our customers.

Ya'll be safe out there and we hope to see you next week at our shop in downtown Rutherfordton and make sure you come see us Saturday at Cherry Mt Farm & General Store for their Forged in Freedom event!

Forge Friday and Fall Fun!

Y'all should join us October 16, from 5–8 for an evening of pumpkin painting, carving, and hanging out at the shop!

It’s BYOP (bring your own pumpkin)! We’ll have paint and carving supplies here for you to use, and you’re welcome to bring your own decorating supplies, too. Pick up a pumpkin from your favorite local farmer or stand, or stop by Local Harvest just down the road if you don’t already have a regular spot.

We’re adding a little friendly competition, too! To join the contest, decorate your pumpkin with us during Forge Friday. We’ll post all entries on social media for votes and announce the winner October 23. The winner will snag a $50 Night Owl Certificate to use toward classes, merch, or Night Owl products!

Be sure to bring dinner with you! Yellow Sun Pizza and Pints is our usual Friday night go-to, but we have so many great restaurants to choose from right here in downtown Rutherfordton.

Forge Friday happens the third Friday of every month. Bring a friend and come spend a little of your Friday evening with us!

Mark your calendars for one of our favorite events of the year!

Blacksmithing skills contributed to the self-sufficient lifestyle of Appalachian settlers. Most settlers had small blacksmith forges in outbuildings on their farms. This made it possible to make and repair metal tools, hardware and equipment that were necessary for survival. Blacksmithing will be one of the many trades demonstrated at the Fall Heritage Festival.

We hope to see you on October 24th where blacksmithing and hundreds of traditional demonstrations will be on display!
