We’re waking up with hearts full of gratitude this morning! ☀️

As the owner of the Grateful Vermonter Gift Shop, part of my mission is to express gratitude FOR my community, TO my community. 🙏🏼

With Audrey & Evelyn graduating from Rutland High School this week, my emotions have been all over the place! I have felt so much support from all directions, including their teachers at Rutland Town School, neighbors, customers, and friends. Thank you all so much! We really feel it!

I say it all the time, but living and working in the Rutland region has been an absolute dream come true. One of the best changes from when we lived in Florida is knowing our children’s teachers and support staff personally. They are educators who are genuinely invested in their growth and success, and that has meant the absolute world to us.

Ten years ago, the girls were getting lost in the mix of a massive school district. Their IEP accommodations were getting overlooked, and Dan and I knew we had to make a change. We moved back to my roots, knowing a close-knit community and individualized attention would make an incredible difference.

Today, we are just so grateful for this community and the beautiful lives we get to live.

Our daughter, Evelyn, has been selected to be an Honor Speaker at graduation. We are so proud!!! Congratulations, Class of 2026!

Rutland High School is proud to announce the senior honor speakers!

Evelyn Caputo, daughter of Daniel and Brooke Caputo, is one of two Honor Speakers for the Rutland High School Class of 2026.

Throughout most of her life, Evelyn has spent a significant portion of her time performing on stage. Whether it be playing the trumpet, dancing, singing or acting, Evelyn is strongly committed to several music ensembles at Rutland High School and throughout the community.

Evelyn has dedicated herself to several Honor Societies and school clubs. She is the proud co-president of Environmental Club, co-president of World Language Club, Vice president of Tri-M Music Honor Society, a proud member of Key Club, National Honor Society, and French Honor Society. She finds purpose in giving back to her school and community. She’s happy to volunteer and contribute anywhere she can and believes volunteering is what makes a community successful.

Evelyn will be attending the University of New Hampshire in the fall, where she will major in Music Education. She plans to be a music teacher in the Rutland region one day.

We’re so proud of our daughter, Evelyn, for playing Taps at this morning’s Memorial Day Ceremony. Thank you to the VFW Post 648 for always including the Rutland High School Bands in this solemn occasion. It was an honor to attend.

Join the RHS Band and VFW Post 648 as we remember those who gave their lives in service to our country. This year’s Memorial Day Ceremony will be held on Monday, May 25 at 11:00am in the RHS Gym. All are welcome to attend.
