Open Door Mission

This is the hardest appeal letter I have had to write. Why because we lost a former client, Veteran this month. The story of Bob is a true story of the Mission. Bob a veteran came to us as a homeless Veteran who needed shelter and help finding his daughter who he had not seen since she was 8. Bob started as a client, then became a member of our staff and a friend. Bob saved, got a apartment and restarted his life. I helped him in his search for his daughter and finally, yes, he did find her. Bob passed this month with his daughter present. These are the things we do here at the Open Door. How we accomplish this is based largely by appeal and donations from those that care. We do not receive state or federal funding but you, the folks out there make the difference so we can feed, cloth help men and women to become whole again. This has been a tough year our freezer went down we lost all of the meat in there and had to have the freezer fixed. We also realize that many of us also with the price of gas and food are having a tough time. We ask that you donate what you can to help us help others.
Sincerely
