The Plant Foundry is an urban nursery in Sacramento's historic Broadway Triangle district. We are a full-service nursery offering-- specialty plants, organic herbs & vegetables, organic seeds, organic fertilizers, organic pesticides, organic potting soils and soil amendments, quality tools, artisan goods, books, statuary, chicken coops, backyard birding and nature supplies, and gifts for the home and garden.

Every bed looks better with mulch! 🥰

Toledo Landscape also added a layer of compost underneath the bark mulch, to start improving the soil for all the planting to come. Over the next several months, these beds will gradually fill in with drought-tolerant plants, California natives, and wildflowers.

For now, we’re building healthy soil from the ground up. 🌱

We’re aiming for Saturday, and our contractor’s team at Maxton Builders | Build • Remodel • Finish and our nursery crew are working hard on the final details—finishing, unpacking, organizing, and putting everything in its place.

It’s starting to feel like The Plant Foundry. We can’t wait to show you around. 🥰

It’s a good day for mulch! 🌱

Thank you, Toledo Landscape, for helping us get our new planting beds off to a great start.

We’re taking our time with these beds and working with the seasons rather than rushing to fill them. We started with a nice layer of compost, followed by cardboard and mulch to help build healthy soil, conserve moisture, and suppress weeds. The beds will be watered with drip irrigation.

As we move into fall and the rains return, we’ll begin planting lots of California natives, drought-tolerant plants, and wildflower seeds. 🌼🌿

This is going to be a project that evolves over the coming months, and we’re excited to watch it come to life.

A little bit of 3500 Broadway came with us. 🥰

When we built the restroom at our new home, we were able to reuse some special pieces from our old location—the wine barrel strap pendant lights and the live-edge redwood slab that once sat over our counter at 3500 Broadway.

We love that these familiar pieces have a new life at 3621 Broadway. They’re a small piece of Plant Foundry history, carried forward into our next chapter. 🌿

At long last… setting up our Peggy Flynn P. Flynn Design card racks after the big move! 🥰

They were some of the very first things we unboxed as we start bringing the shop back to life inside our new home. Tomorrow, there will be even more unboxing as we bring out all of our favorite things and start putting The Plant Foundry back together again. 🌿✨

It’s so good to see these familiar favorites back where they belong.
