: Due to expected high winds, extremely cold temperatures and wind chills reaching up to 15 degrees below zero, and on the advice of our fireworks provider, Grucci Fireworks, and with consultation with the Sag Harbor Fire Marshall, the Sag Harbor Chamber of Commerce has made the decision to cancel the fireworks display scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Saturday as part of HarborFrost.
For the safety of performers, volunteers and attendees, the Chamber has also cancelled the fire dancers performance and the hot chocolate stand that was scheduled to be hosted by the Sag Harbor Boy Scout Troop on Long Wharf.
"We are disappointed to announce that the 2026 HarborFrost fireworks show has been cancelled,” a spokesman from Grucci said. "Due to unusually high winds forecasted for tomorrow evening at the time of the fireworks performance, the Village of Sag Harbor Fire Officials, Fireworks by Grucci and the Sag Harbor Chamber of Commerce have determined that a cancellation is necessary to ensure the safety of our spectators and surrounding properties. While there is no reschedule date for this year, we thank you for your understanding and eagerly look forward to the return of the fireworks for HarborFrost 2027.”
All other HarborFrost activities are still taking place as planned, including ice carving demonstrations and the many fun, family-friendly events listed on the HarborFrost calendar at sagharborchamber.com and in The Sag Harbor Express special HarborFrost section. The Chamber is encouraging everyone to come out, bundle up, and enjoy a full day of HarborFrost festivities throughout the village. "We appreciate the community’s understanding as safety remains our top priority, and we look forward to celebrating winter together in Sag Harbor,” Chamber officials said in a statement.
