Gloria Steinem co-founded Ms. Magazine in 1972, giving women’s voices a mainstream platform when few believed one was needed. She helped organize the 1977 National Women’s Conference and co-founded the National Women’s Political Caucus, building the infrastructure that got women into rooms where decisions were made. For over five decades she showed up for reproductive rights, for equal pay, and for the simple, radical idea that a woman’s life belongs to her.
She never asked to be a symbol. She just kept doing the work, decade after decade, long after it stopped being fashionable and long before it was safe.
Thank you, Gloria for paving the road so many of us walk on. It is impossible not to feel the weight of losing a leader like this, especially now, when the world needs exactly her kind of clarity and courage.
We carry it forward ❤️
