About me and FETTS, and how we began
ALONG TIME AGO, IN A GALAXY FAR, FAR AWAY...... :) I was in the Navy and stationed for my first 3 duty stations in San Diego, boo hoo right.. :) I met some great NERD friends and we got a place off base to live. The walls were covered in Xmen, DC, Star Wars posters, and all kinds of collectibles on the shelves, and cool fun nerd stuff. Think we even all had s
uperhero bed sheets haha. For many years, while being stationed there we went. Carried backpacks for the goodies, had poster tubes for any artwork we got. After the long day, went home and compared goodies we got. We had our passes mailed to us, so no waiting in line. Loved seeing the artists, the props, collectible action figures, statues minis busts, the cosplay girls, the new movies coming out, cool, freebies etc. I recently found my photo album of those days, I may be brave to share some pics, haha. Anyway, for many years we went to the cons, and had a blast, collecting more treasures. Even when I was transferred to another base out of the state I came back a few times. I was addicted to the cool action figures, props, mini busts, statues, and NOW Funko stuff. So I collected things over the years I liked, and more and more I moved with the Navy, I had to cart more to each duty station. I again, was stationed in SD for Health Inspector school. Guess when? SDCC 2005, yeah baby. But, I did not think I would be there at that time so I did not preregister, and had to wait 3 hours for my pass. Enjoyed my time, alone this time. I collected tons more stuff, and brought it home after school. I retired from the Navy after 20 years of service in Jan 2012, and moved back home, with a UHAUL full of my treasures (My multiple of preciouses). My dream was to open a collectible store, to trade and sell items, and share the fun and excitement. As I was settling in my new house, I noticed 2 collectible stores in my area, I was dealing with, close shop. I began to worry about expenses like rent, utilities, etc. I did not want to lose money. So with the help of a good cosplay friend, FETT'S TOY DEPOT was born, to sell and share my goodies. I was good, and never got into the POP game.... Until, my son won a free Incredible Hulk at BN, for Marvel Day 2014. Then, I had the fever, and it grew ever since. I have made connections with the local stores, created good friendships, and even have a few connections in Australia. So, then, FETTS, kinda of evolved into a personal shopping service. With my connections, I could help people get most things. As of now, I deal a few companies to get them local exclusives, and help some Australia friends get things and they help me get things. I have gotten to know some of you, as friends, not as customers. I have learned what some of you like, to help with the shopping experience. I have helped many of you, and many of you have helped me with getting things. Some of you have sent my son goodies, and he loved them all. THANK YOU!! If you know me well, you know I am a huge Fan of Boba Fett, Venom, Halo, and Predator. You message me, Hey Paul can you get this, or do you have it. I try my best to fill your needs. I have had some strange requests, haha. I also, have some of you tell me what you want, before it comes out, and I place orders for it, to be held when they come to the stores. Each store has my orders behind the counter, :) I do this to help people get things they want and complete their collections. To share the fun and enjoyment, NOT to flip or make huge profits. I do this in my spare time, as I am a coach, Cub Scout leader and volunteer at my sons school a few days a week. I try to get your orders out in 24 to 48 hours, but later when things arise, but I let you know. THANK YOU, FOR YOUR SUPPORT, and the friendships, and the awesome trades. I am still organizing the mess of tons of boxes in my basement of treasures. I have been told by many of my customers that their kids love watching them open the boxes from me with all the goodies. So, I will be soon, offering kids mystery boxes by FETTS, where the Adults can help me make a box based on your kids favorite themes are with Pops, Dorbz, Minis, and Keychains.
