Boy has this piece been a journey of ups & downs!
I am so relieved to be finished with it. Thanks to everyone who helped along the way, especially Jared Hart who did the image on the front.

Tomorrow it makes its way to the CAN Council's 26th Annual Mardi Gras Auction

I wish the color variation of this cup was as vibrant in photos as it is in person....

All of the glaze flowed just perfectly around the cup making a lot of really interesting colors & textures 😍 I really wish I could keep this particular mug for myself!

While my hand injury was healing, I came across some of the largest Maple leaves I have ever seen!
Luckily I was able to put my left hand to use & sculpt some really fun projects out of them.

Sometimes when I open the kiln it's a surprise nightmare, a few weeks ago I had one of those nights...

At any point in the pottery process things can go wrong (and usually do). A glaze I have been experimenting with runs a lot and unfortunately ruined an entire shelf full of work.

When I say blood, sweat & tears go into my pottery, it isn't a figure of speech. Broken ceramic is sharper than most knives.....
It was a small wound, but it must have hit a nerve (or something) because I have been unable to sculpt with that hand for almost a few weeks now.

I still don't have full range of motion with my thumb, but will resume building cups again tomorrow!
