These beauties are just some of what is headed into the shop today. The copper kettle took over an hour to polish, but what a result it gave! The Bordallo Pinheiro cabbageware bowl is 9", perfect for serving or for display. The brass candlesticks are from a longtime New England collector estate; they have gorgeous details including a scalloped base.

Sometimes s**t happens that is wrong and unfair, and there's nothing you can do but wait it out and hope that doing the right thing pays off in the end. It did, finally, and I realize now how much of my energy was being consumed by this thing. I have been so...stuck.

So today I was able to burn through my to-do list, and then I followed a random idea and made this little owl out of scraps of yarn and parts of patterns. I ripped out, improvised, dug through bins, tried again. What a joy to have the brain space and freedom to be creative again, even just with something as silly as this. If you are struggling right now, I hope you can give yourself that peace and freedom, too.

PS , your stories have been so helpful to me lately. Thank you so much for sharing them.

It's been exactly three months since we moved into our house in Vermont and I think I have finally figured out the living room. I'm definitely old-fashioned when it comes to houses, so this open-concept layout has been a challenge! But it's comfortable, has lots of seating, and I have room for all my little collections, so I"m happy. (And blankets everywhere, because dogs.)

Next project is a gallery wall on either side of the mantel on the left. I have a few pieces already and it will be fun to source the rest 💙🩵💚💛

New to my booth today is this antique Ridgway black transferware serving plate in the pattern Indus. In addition to the wonderful shorebird center motif, I love the bamboo plant design around the edges and the integrated handles. The marks on the back indicate this design was registered in June of 1877, and the piece measures 10-1/4 in wide x 9 in tall. Price $98
