You never know what you’re going to find! I was going through a book I had purchased and was lucky enough to stumble upon this. This is the type of stuff that keeps you going on that hunt. To think a folded piece of paper has made it in this good condition for so long is amazing!

It’s reads close to as follows:

Gilmanton Sept. 20th, 1795

Sir,

I suppose you will expect to set out for Barrington on Monday next but for certain reasons the twenty fifth Regiment is postponed until the twentieth day of October next for Inspection. The other Battalion will meet according to order and if you can conveniently I should be glad you would come to my house on Tuesday night and tarry there for I suppose you will go to Dover on Wednesday.

There is a very good chance that we are game board obsessed over here! If you haven’t already marked your calendars for the Walker Homestead Show on June 20th 10:00-3:00 at 19 Martin Road in Brookfield Massachusetts what are you doing?!?!? Many of these game boards will be on for sale at the show. With over 40 vendors and live music there will be so much to explore! The event is hosted by Kris Casucci and her wonderful husband Paul! We can’t wait!

Three of my favorite pieces from the esteemed Matt King Collection are showcased here! The first piece is a remarkable 19th-century redware item, which I currently attribute to a Maine origin. Notably, it bears a signature, adding to its significance of which can hopefully help me find the maker. Additionally, we acquired a stunning table churn adorned with a bird motif, a relatively rare design on a table churn. Lastly, the pièce de résistance is the exquisite Mochaware saucer in exceptional condition previously part of the renowned Johnathon Rickard collection, a noted expert in mochaware, before being acquired by King. I love the purple seaweed design! Some wonderful pieces that will be for sale soon! And this is just some!
