how life feels when the girls are back together, making charm necklaces on the beach, and the cancer is GONE!!💗⭐️
Everyone wants a village, but nobody wants to be a villager.
Be there for your loved ones, and give back to your community.
A few things I’m learning through Tori’s journey:
1. Cancer doesn’t end when treatment ends. Sometimes that’s when the emotional part really begins.
2. “Cancer-free” doesn’t mean worry-free. Every scan, ache, lump, or weird symptom can bring the fear rushing back.
3. Chemo isn’t the only hard part. Surgery, radiation, medications, medical menopause, body changes, fatigue, neuropathy, and long-term side effects can follow for years.
4. You grieve yourself. The body you had. The energy you had. The innocence you had before cancer became something you knew could happen to you.
5. The answer isn’t always to “stay positive.” Sometimes it’s needed to be scared, angry, sad, or exhausted without trying to find the silver lining.
6. It’s felt when you stop asking. Treatment may be over, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they stopped needing support.
7. There is no “back to normal.” There is learning who you are now and figuring out how to build a life around everything that happened.
8. Cancer steals more than hair. It can take confidence, fertility, body parts, careers, finances, friendships, time, security, and the ability to assume tomorrow is guaranteed.
9. Surviving is complicated. Cancer survivors are incredibly thankful to still be here-but sometimes they’re also trying to figure out how to feel like themselves again.
10. Cancer teaches us how fragile life is. But it also taught me how incredibly valuable it is. If you’ve never had cancer, don’t wait for a diagnosis to start living like your time matters💗
This week, 10% of our proceeds will be donated to the Lighthouse For Hope nonprofit foundation, a foundation that has helped our family and many others through this process.🎗️
