Aquilegia buergeriana seed - a delicate rarity you can actually grow! I’m obsessed with those fragrant purple petals and sunny yellow throats; they sit low and showy on sturdy stems and draw bees, butterflies and hummingbirds like a tiny garden magnet. 25+ seeds per pack, hardy in Zones 6-9, only 6-8" tall (spreads to ~10"), loves full sun to part shade, and yes - deer & rabbit resistant. It’s low-maintenance, great for containers, borders or cut flowers, and just $3.10 a pack - a pretty attainable way to add something uncommon to your beds. We keep our seeds stored for freshness, and we’re always here to help if you’re trying a rare variety for the first time! Tell me - where would you plant these? 🌸🐝💜

🌱🌸 We're kicking off our How To Series - Week 1: Primula Edition! I know Primulas can feel a little fussy, so we made a step-by-step primer to turn that tricky start into a confident one. 🤗

Quick facts: Primulas are mostly perennials (sometimes annuals), happiest in cool, humid spots and planting zones 3-10. They shine in rock, woodland or bog gardens and bloom from late winter into summer depending on species.

How to start (short & actionable):
• Indoors: pre-chill seeds 8-10 weeks before your last frost. A common method is to place seeds with a moist growing medium in a plastic bag and refrigerate for about 3 weeks, then give them light and keep temps around 60-65°F.
• Outdoors: fall sowing for zones 8-10 only.
• Sow on the surface (depth: surface). Germination: ~10-40 days. Difficulty: yes, these are a bit tricky - so don’t use all your seeds at once!

P.S. We store all our seeds in refrigerated units to keep them fresh for you, and we proudly curate rare varieties (many sourced from Europe) for gardeners who love unique blooms.

We care about your rare seeds as much as you do - that’s why we refrigerate them! 🌱❄️ Refrigerated storage keeps seeds dormant and stable, preserving germination rates so your investment has the best chance to sprout. At Awesome Blossom Plants we use a cold-chain from storage to shipment to protect viability - it’s a small extra step that makes a big difference. Want to mimic that at home? Keep seeds in airtight containers, store them in the coolest part of your fridge (not the freezer), use silica gel packs to control moisture, and label everything. We handpick rare seeds from small family growers in Europe who guard unusual varieties like treasured recipes - and we bring them straight to your garden. We visit regions known for bold color forms and genetic diversity, choose only the healthiest lines, and send each batch chilled so you get stronger, truer blooms. As a family-run team, we care about quality (and we get genuinely excited about weird, wonderful petals). Try something you won’t find at big-box stores - your garden will thank you! Ipomoea nil - Kikyo Snowflake Japanese Morning Glory. This is a vine that I grow, it is rare and so easy to grow from seed. To me it is one of the most impressive Japanese Morning Glories I have grown. It blooms consistently daily with flowers that stop you in your tracks to look at the blooms. If you ever grow a morning glory, grow this one, you will not regret it. Kikyo Snowflake is one of the most strikingly beautiful Japanese morning glories. It has a color contrast where the dark blue/purple is outlined by white, and the center of the flower is a darker pink. Many Japanese Morning Glories have a picotee edge to them, but Snowflake has much more color and creates a white star, where the blues and purples surround the white. Each morning the vine is filled with new blooms that greet you in the early morning. I love to learn tidbits of plant origins, and I have read that in Japan many centuries ago the Master gardeners would try to create beautiful flowers for the Emperor to impress and please him with their new creations, this vine was one of those such flowers. Morning Glories have been around since around 900 a.d. The plant is primarily cultivated in Japan and is still grown there today and offers hundreds of varieties. This vine can grow 10-12 feet. It is easy to grow and generally blooms within 6 weeks from germination.
