YES! We’re all excited about the court case (Jensen v ATF), and I can’t wait to start transferring cans to everyone!

BUT… And this is a big BUT… Until ATF gives instructions on how to transfer in accordance with the court finding, it’s business as usual. The manufacturers and wholesalers are still sending the suppressors to dealers with Form 3 transfers, which protects them and leaves us little guys (FFLs) spinning in the wind.

Until ATF updates instructions, all suppressors transferred by JP Custom Fi****ms will be processed on Form 4. Thank you for your understanding.

For those Minnesotans excited about converting your AR pistol to an SBR, now that the NFA is defunct… don’t do it! Not yet.

Due to Jensen v. ATF, you can [for] now buy silencers through Silencer Shop (and some others) without the form 4. However, a separate law called the Gun Control Act of 1968 requires authorization for citizens to make or receive short barreled long guns (SBRs, and SBSs). Prior to now the authorization came in form of a tax stamp. Without NFA, we no longer have a form of authorization and are in limbo with how to move forward on this.

Also, although the DOJ and ATF did not seek injunction of Jensen v. ATF within the 7 day window to do so, they still have 60 days to appeal the ruling.

In other words, this fight ain’t over. Keep supporting the FPC Action Foundation and Gun Owners of America!

Effective immediately, Minnesota Adults may obtain Permits to Carry regardless of age (meaning 18-20 year-olds can now obtain permits to carry).

Note: Federal law still prohibits gun dealers from selling handguns to anyone under 21 years of age.
However, 18-20 year-olds can buy or receive a gifted gun from private citizens. A new Minnesota law (effective August 1, 2023) requires a “Private Party Record of Transfer” to be completed and retained for 10 years by both parties.

A judge has sided with gun owners in a case that challenged age limits around Minnesota permits to carry guns. An appeal is possible.

Attention Customers: Guns.com has decided to no longer allow orders to be shipped to small business home-based dealers and manufacturers. Even though I offer the same legal transfer services of fi****ms and NFA items (SBRs, Suppressors, etc), with more flexible and accommodating hours, and personalized service then the big box stores, they’ve deemed small business owners like myself irrelevant.
