Welcome to The Petite Provisions Co., home to small batch miniatures handmade in the USA! In addition to miniatures, I also practice the art of needle felting.

My name is Erika, and I’ve combined my love of food, art and all things small to create a shop filled with miniature delicacies in one inch scale! I live in Orlando with my husband of nine years and a motley crew of two adorably stubborn dachshunds and four delightfully mischievous cats. I’ve always had a flair for the creative: I’m a classically trained violinist and pianist, I graduated from the

University of Central Florida with a degree in visual journalism, I love to cook, and I’m always excited to learn new hobbies and crafts.

The Coastal Co. Classic collection is officially here.

This collection was inspired by weathered docks, harbor-side cottages, gathered summer tables, faded coastal textiles, chilled rosé, and those slow evenings near the water that you wish you could stay inside forever.

Every piece in this release was designed to feel layered, collected, sun-warmed, and quietly lived in. From tiny oyster boards and coastal market totes to weathered gulls, tabletop details, and seaside textures, this collection has truly become one of my favorite worlds I’ve built so far.

For this launch, the collection is available as a preorder release so I can create everything in small handmade batches here in my studio.

Preorders are now open through June 4.

I wanted to follow up on my last post, because something came up today that feels worth talking about. In a large miniatures group, an admin shut down any discussion around AI after someone questioned whether an image was real or generated.

I understand not wanting call-outs or pile-ons. I would never publicly accuse a specific artist of using AI. That’s not my place, and it’s not helpful. But I do think it’s important to acknowledge something honestly:

AI-generated imagery is making its way into the miniatures space.

Sometimes it’s subtle, and sometimes it may be layered on top of real work in ways that blur the line even further.

I’ve seen it myself, and I think it’s fair to say that it exists. What we do with that is a more complicated conversation.

There are incredibly talented artists out there creating beautiful work, and I don’t think most people are approaching this with bad intentions. But I do think it’s worth being aware that how work is presented can change how it’s perceived.

For some, AI-enhanced or AI-generated imagery feels inauthentic. I’m in that camp. Especially since I work really hard on my photos.

For others, it’s just another tool.

Wherever you land on that, I believe we should be able to talk about it openly, respectfully, and without accusations, but without shutting the conversation down entirely.

Because at the end of the day, this space is built on craftsmanship, creativity, and a shared appreciation for the work itself. And those things are worth protecting.

Happy Friday, everyone!

I want to talk about something I’ve been seeing more and more often lately: AI-generated “miniatures” being shared as if they’re real, physical pieces.

I’m actually not anti-AI at all. It can be a powerful tool when used ethically. But there’s an important distinction that’s getting blurred, and it matters, especially for artists who actually build these pieces by hand.

I don’t usually share photos of myself with my work. I prefer the pieces to stand on their own. But I’m stepping outside of my *extremely shy* comfort zone and making an exception here to illustrate a point.

If you’re not sure how to tell the difference between real miniatures and AI, here are a few things to look for:

• Perfect textures (like wood, stone, or fabric that doesn’t behave like real materials)
• Lighting that feels cinematic but doesn’t match a physical scale or light source
• Details that don’t quite hold up when you zoom in (weird edges, uneven seams, repeated patterns)

Real miniatures are imperfect in very specific ways. They have weight, structure, and physical limitations. They exist in real light, at a real scale, and they take hours (or in my case, days and weeks) to create.

There’s room for both real art and digital inspiration. But when one is presented as the other, it undermines the people actually creating by hand.

This piece exists. That distinction matters. I made it, one tiny detail at a time. 🩷

Hey friends! I’ve been working on a few new pieces lately, and this little drop leans into the garden side of things - pollinator water stations with butterflies, a new dragonfly (which was honestly so much fun to figure out), and some miniature honeycomb frames with wax and honey details. The honeycomb especially took a bit of trial and error, but I’m really happy with how it ended up looking.

Hey friends! I’ve been a little quiet over here while I’ve been working on some new pieces, and I’m really excited to finally share them with you.

This little spring collection came together around the idea of capturing quiet moments in a garden - tiny scenes under glass, and small details like pollinator water stations where a bee might stop for a drink. It’s been such a fun challenge trying to make everything feel natural and just a little bit alive.

The bees were… a whole journey 🤣 but I’m really happy with where they landed. Everything is live in the shop now! ✨

This collection was inspired by the small details you might notice in a quiet garden. The ones that don’t call attention to themselves, but make the space feel lived in. A weathered mailbox at the edge of a path. A rain chain catching the last of a spring shower. This is a small release, and quantities are limited. Available now in the shop.

Somewhere in the garden, just before the first blooms…

Bird baths fill again. Old pumps and feeders emerge from winter. Moss returns to the stone and soil softens around well-worn garden fixtures that have stood through many seasons.

This new collection is inspired by that moment in early spring — the brief, quiet time between winter and the first flowers.

It was actually below freezing here in Central Florida this morning! So, I’ve been feeling inspired to continue with my winter-themed minis. I love this snowy bird bath!
