Heads up. We've been informed of two different dogs showing canine cough symptoms. Posting to give everyone a heads up so they know what's going around and to give everyone a refresher on what this means and what we need from you.
Canine Cough is a contagious respiratory infection that easily spreads in environments where dogs gather (daycare, boarding, dog parks, grooming salons, vet clinics etc) and most commonly causes a persistent cough.
All of our guests are vaccinated and current with bordetella but unfortunately canine cough is like the flu -- where you can get the flu vaccine and still get the flu.
If your dog is coughing, hacking, gagging, sneezing, has lower energy, throwing up or has other potentially contagious symptoms that are not canine cough related like vomiting or loose stool -- please do not bring them to daycare.
Coughing or other symptoms:
π· Inform us.
π· Do not bring your dog to daycare, dog parks, play with the neighbor dog.
π· Contact your vet to see how they can help your pup feel better quicker.
π· Most dogs feel better in 10-14 days.
OUR POLICY:
Is for dogs to wait 10 days after the last time they cough before returning to LDD play.
If you think your dog is susceptible to easily catching this or has a weaker immune system, I would suggest not attending daycare this week. I'll make another post on Sunday to keep everyone informed on how next week is looking.
