So, there is a new mural coming to the alley wall of a bookshop near you! Local artist Heidi Jeub has secured an Arts Grant to install a mural in the alley behind the bookstore. This will happen later this fall and right now she is holding mini workshops to foster community engagement. They are mixing colors and putting them on canvas, and doing other artist things, so if you are interested in being part of this process there are two more sessions before installation. I will include the details in the comments below. I have tried to offer my unique perspective on color theory, but so far have not had a chance to participate. We are pretty excited to see this come together!

Always unique finds downtown! Check out the 1947 candy dispenser at Books Revisited

We have a new addition to our front counter! This is a 1947 Atlas Bantam candy dispensing machine, it takes nickels and we have it set-up to dispense M&M'S. There aren't many things you can buy (anywhere) for .05, so this might be the best value Downtown! It also dispenses a whole hand-full, so the value proposition leans heavy toward the consumer. The most interesting part for me was to discover how the intrinsic knowledge of how these things work has nearly completely vanished from children today. I have asked several kids "How do we get the candy out?" and the response has been the same, "I don't know." Demonstration video is in the comments, or grab a nickel and try it for yourself!
