I have been wanting to write about this for a long time.Let me start at the beginning,I had a wonderful childhood,I grew up in a little town in Louisiana I was a twin and it was great,I always had someone to talk to or play around with.Me and my twin brother were so close and done everything together. Our Dad died when we wher five and our Mom never remarried she was our rock,Oh did I mention she was 45 when she had us,so she was way older than us but she was a great Mom;She went to work at the little local hospital she didn't make alot of money but we were happy,we never got what we wanted but we had what we needed. We had a lot of love in our family.my brother and me would play in the woods from daylight till dark back then there was just two channels on the tv and you had to have money to have air condition,so we didn't we had a old attic fan and it would keep us cool in the summer. We were like 8 years old when we got our first phone a party line that means more than one family used the same phone line boy it could get crazy trying to use that phone, but we didnt care.We would stay outside all day using our imaginations to think up hundreds of ways to have fun.we didnt stay inside playing bloody video games, didnt have nothing like that !! I remember we couldn't wait to get home from school and run in the house to watch Gilligans Island man that was the highlight of our day.we had great neighbors too although there was some fighting and stuff but it was innocent stuff we never really stopped hanging out and playing with them.During summer break from school we would all get together and walk on hot black top two miles down the road to go swimming at a place called bikini beach now that was some good times. It was a really fun place they had a big pavillion with pool tables and fooshball machines, they sold hot dogs ,hamburgers and man you could get the coldest cokes around.the swimming pool was really big and shaped like a kidney bean there was a sandy beach that led down to it.you could camp out fish or swim in the lake it was a magical place to all of us.i remember the big mamosa tree we had in the front yard boy we had a lot of fun in it to,playing star trek and stuff.we both had us a benjaman pump bb gun,we got real good at shooting them,we would catch our sister in that tree and keep her up there for hours everytime she tried to come down we would shoot her in the butt with our bb guns now that was fun till she finally got out of the tree boy we had hell to pay then, but seriously we had two great sisters they kinda helped raise us cause our Mom had to work.We had bunches of cousins, aunts and uncles that taught us alot.they were all really great and we had lots of fun with them.We could all get together in our front yard and have some great football and baseball games, there would be twenty or thirty of us out there and there would be some ferocious competition.Life without all these electronic devices was good.
