If you've had a power outage, check to be sure the correct current time of day is showing on your water softener.
The time setting is the internal clock that tells the system when to start its regeneration cycle. If the clock is wrong the softener may regenerate during peak water use and send untreated water back into your home. It may also regenerate at times when no one is home and waste salt and water. Keeping the clock accurate ensures regeneration happens at off-peak hours, preserves water quality, and extends the life of your softener.
To reset the time of day on a digital control valve:
Enter Clock Setting Mode
Press the SET CLOCK (or CLOCK / SET TIME) button once.
The Hour digits will begin flashing.
Adjust the Hour
Use the ▲ (Up) or ▼ (Down) arrow buttons to set the current hour.
Note: Ensure the AM/PM indicator matches the current time. Scrolling past 12 toggles between AM and PM.
Switch to Minutes
Press the NEXT (or CLOCK / SET) button.
The Minute digits will begin flashing.
Adjust the Minutes
Use the ▲ (Up) or ▼ (Down) arrow buttons to set the correct minute.
Save and Exit
Press the NEXT (or CLOCK / SET) button one final time.
The display will stop flashing and return to the normal service screen showing the updated time.
