Hello everyone my name is Alex Alexander, I'm a fishing guide and 3rd generation minnow trapper, that's lived in The Northwoods my entire life. My family established the bait shop known as Ray's Landing in St. Germain, WI back in my youthful days which blossomed into a life long passion for fishing and trapping bait. I have a love for all fish but my mainstay is the Trout no matter the species.

Trout can be some of the hardest species to target especially after spawn and until the water warms up. I've been seeing water temps in the lower to mid 50's, which has had them waiting to transition from spring to summer habits. Finding lots of fish under/around suspended bait balls. Swimbaits and tubes in a vertical jigging presentation work well. All though a 3/8-1/2 oz jig w/ minnow often works best due to the scent/look. Brown trout are hands down some of my favorite fish to chase! An absolute blast to catch and non stop action. It's amazing how voracious these fish are no matter the season!
