POV: 8:45 p.m. on a Saturday night. ❤️

Brian started working at 8:00 this morning at the big house, and when I thought surely it was time to call it a day, he said, “I need to put in a little more work in the To Go area.”

Our next chapter is coming… and nobody is working harder to get us there than this amazing guy. 🤍 ⚒️

There are some people who simply do business differently — Alvis Mechanical LLC A/C are those people!!!

They have done an unbelievable job with the A/C installation at the Big White House (where The Potager Market is headquartered), and we can’t say enough about the level of service we’ve received from Alvis.

When you’re renovating a 100+ year old house, there are ALWAYS surprises. What has impressed us most is that Alvis doesn’t just come out, fix something, and move on. He follows up. He calls to make sure everything is working properly, ensuring us he’s on-hand and ready for any follow ups.

We’ve joked that Alvis Mechanical is the Chick-fil-A of the HVAC world — exceptional service, genuine care, and the kind of follow-through that has become pretty hard to find these days. ❤️

We’re incredibly grateful to Alvis and his buddy Chris for helping us bring this old house back to an amazing life — and keeping us COOL while we do the renovations in this brutal heat! 😅

⚡️ POWERING UP THE BIG WHITE HOUSE! ⚡️

There’s a whole lot happening behind the scenes at The Potager Market, and today we want to give a huge THANK YOU to Steve and Dave at BPRS Electrical for helping bring the Big White House to life! 💡 💡 💡

From giving our new kitchen the power it needs to get cooking to helping us brighten up the outside, these guys have been an incredible part of this renovation. Their professionalism, expertise, and attention to detail have been top-notch—but what we appreciate most is how they’ve taken the time to guide us through every decision, making sure the choices we make today support where we want our business to go tomorrow. 🎯

Renovating an old house into something new and special takes a village, and we are incredibly grateful for the local experts helping us get there.

And YES… we are working hard to get this kitchen remodel finished so we can OPEN OUR DOORS VERY SOON! 🌿 🎃 🍁

Brian has been making incredible progress on the renovations! The spot where he’s standing? That’s the original chimney for the home’s wood-burning cook stove.

And behind the drywall, we uncovered another surprise… layers of beautiful hand painted historic wallpaper that has quietly stood the test of time.

As for what this space will become… well, Brian says the best thinking happens in full cowboy mode. 🤠

Transforming the Big White House’s kitchen has already uncovered a little piece of early 1900’s history!! 🧹 🫖 🖼️ 👀 👀 👀

Hidden beneath layers of old sheetrock, was this charming vintage kitchen scene—complete with teapots, brooms, plants, and cozy windows. It feels like a sweet reminder of all the meals, conversations, and memories this historic house has witnessed over the years.

As we create our new commercial kitchen, we’re honored to preserve and celebrate the character that has always made this house so special. We can’t wait to fill it with great food, unique experiences, and new memories for years to come for our awesome community. ♥️

To our wonderful Potager Market family,

Over the past few months, your support has meant the WORLD to us. It has been unbelievably fulfilling to serve our community—from getting texts asking if we have fresh herbs or produce for tonight’s dinner, to helping someone pick out the perfect birthday plant for their mom, to seeing so many of you stop by just to say hello and ask about our project. Those little moments have reminded us exactly why we’re working so hard.

That’s exactly why we’re taking a short pause on the market side.

Over the next few weeks, all of our energy will be focused on renovating our commercial kitchen and giving the front of the Big White House more improvements so everything is ready for an incredible Fall Market season!!!

We are 100% committed to continuing our produce and plant market. In fact, this short break is exactly what we need to make it bigger, better, and more enjoyable for everyone.

When we return, we’ll be bringing back the produce market with an exciting new addition that we absolutely can’t wait to share with you!!!! 💚

In the meantime, we’ll be sharing renovation updates and behind-the-scenes progress as we transform this next chapter of The Potager Market at the Big White House.
