Even as a young girl I liked to re-vamp my clothes and make them into something more unique. Often times getting into trouble for ripping up a perfectly good top to make it "my own". Moms,...let your kids paint and create!! And for goodness sakes, get them a sewing machine!! Fortunately I ended up going to college and actually getting a degree in Fashion Merchandising. I had no idea that one could
go to school and learn about such a thing! Worked out great for me! After I received my degree, I set out to make my mark in the Fashion World! I made all kinds of clothes, even golf and tennis clothing! One magical day while living in Florida, I landed a job designing swimwear, (TOTAL GOD THING!) which later, I found my unique gift of sewing custom swimwear. That was a great career for 20+years! Feeling a shift in my life and after all those years, I desired a change. In 2008 I began making pouches and "fun purses" to sell at art shows everywhere and soon after a new business was born! Packing up my Lycra and elastic for some leather and velvets, my passion became sewing in details and making high quality bags of sorts. I felt that anything that is worth time in making should be done with the utmost attention to detail and quality materials. I'm most definitely a fabric snob and proud to say it! Life is too short to sew with cheap fabric! At my business, DMD bags, we work hard at being original. Original means, not copying anyone else. Everything is created and sewn right here in my lil studio and all of my ideas are birthed from a need I have had at one time or another.
