Wow what a heat wave going into this holiday weekend. It might be really hot outside but that’s not the only thing hot the fishing remains very good salmon are being caught in 55-90 fow on spoons and flies. Perch fishing has taken off very good in 30-41 fow both north of the harbor and south as is new buffalo is very good. Great numbers and very nice size perch. Minnows are working extremely well.
Remember the Fishin Hole is open 7 days a week from 5:30 Am to 6:00 Pm. And right now we are sitting pretty good on minnows. We have shiners but we don’t have a lot of them. See everyone in the morning.

Sometimes it’s not about who’s the best fishermen/lady or who has the best boat. Some days we just go out there and have fun while we compete. Today was our walleye war and boy was it close and honestly no one there was all competitive about it they just loved the moment. This year over any we had more people step up and give to this tournament and it really showed. First the sandbar they are a great host they always give back to any group that we bring. Then we have Brian from Highs Marine he gave us a trolling motor. Dave Vonk stepped in and gave so some extra prizes could be given. This tournament was just the walleye war that now is the Gene Wagner Memorial tournament. Gene absolutely loved this tournament and he always built a custom rod and donated it. Well now his son Jim is building a rod and donating it. This year his wife Shannan won the rod but chose not to take it so we moved down to the next place. There was no selfishness at all today and everyone that weighed a fish received a prize. At the end of the day everyone won.
But if you looked at these two young anglers (Owen/Andy) you will see that they was the reel winner.
