People have been asking if I'm going to be selling bulk children's shoes every year so I thought I'd address it here. Short answer, probably not. Long answer....
1) I got a good deal on this lot because a reseller needed to offload inventory. Buying these lots from the liquidation company usually costs quite a bit more.
2) I got TONS of shoes that my customers are not interested in and TONS of duplicates. I'm basically selling those at cost or at a loss. If I had been able to see how many duplicates there were and how many big kid sizes there were, which don't sell really well, I would have passed on it.
3) The amount of space they take up is more than I can manage and what I got is considered a partial lot.
4) and actually, one of the biggest reasons that I wouldn't consider it, is due to parents not monitoring their children. The children tear through the sorted and sized bins mixing sizes and scrambling the shoes all together. It took me 10 minutes to just to untangle the shoes in the photo and when you have over 1,000 shoes in bins it's a LOT of work to keep it orderly. Keep in mind I've been dealing with this since February. Children put their dirty feet inside the new shoes leaving smudges. I have nothing against dirty feet because my kids live barefoot, but they are also not allowed to put their feet in or on anything fabric until they wash. Children using their left shoe to pull off the new right shoe leaving dirt, even mud (when it's rained out) and sometimes flat out damaging the new shoe because they don't realize how rough they are being.
So, while I was happy to be able to have these available for you, the cons out-weighed the pros on this one. I know many of you found some great deals and some of you hauled away trash bags full (clean, NEW trash bags lol!). Some of you were saved trips out of town or ordering off amazon because you were able to find what you needed in those bins and I was happy for you! But, I probably won't be doing this again. These shoes will last into next spring and after that, resume normal inventory. π
This week, I finally sorted almost ALL the new shoes and sandals (mostly sandals and mostly girls!) into bins according to size and have them under the kids clothes and ladies dress racks. There are still many at only $5.00!
