Sitting in Community with the Nibi/Mni/Water-

Join Tanaǧidaŋ To Wiŋ and Annishinabe kwe Giiwedini Binesiikwe (Gio Antell Cerise) as we gather in community to honor and connect with our precious relative, Nibi (Water). Through conversation, reflection, and shared learning, we will explore our relationship with the waters, as well as the plants and animals that depend on and care for them alongside us.
Together, we will explore our relationship with water through a short guided meditation, followed by a creative art activity. Participants will paint a glass as a reminder of their connection to Nibi and the teachings it offers.
We will close our evening in song, gratitude, and community.

June 18th from 5pm-7pm

These workshops and plant walks are in partnership with Capitol Region Watershed District and Blue Hummingbird Woman.

Free and open to the public.

Laughing and learning together. We had a wonderful evening together eating wild rice soup and learning from Tammy Villegas about the fish at Como Lake. We connected with the plants and water and had the best time!

Blue Hummingbird Woman and I welcome everyone out for a day of learning about Dakota plants in our Four Winds Garden at Battle Creek Park, this Saturday!

During Wozupi Wi (Planting Moon), we'll gather to learn about the Dakota teachings of the Three Sisters, plant together, and reset our bean lodges for the growing season.

Last year, we worked to transform an old abandoned playground into a garden for our Native plant relatives. Since then, we've watched plant relatives, pollinators, mice, frogs, deer and even an owl return. It's been beautiful to witness how quickly life comes back when we care for the land in a good way.
