Join us!!!!
September 2nd for a beautiful evening!

An evening to Slow Down. To take a Pause. To simply Be with Nibi/Mni.
Join Tanaǧidaŋ To Wiŋ and Giiwedini Binesiikwe (Gio Antell Cerise) as we gather in community to honor and spend time with our precious relative, Nibi/Mni (Water).

Together, we will create space to slow down, listen, reflect, and reconnect. Through guided meditation, sharing, and learning, we will explore our relationship and consider what our relationship with Nibi/Mni looks like.
Sometimes, the medicine is simply community — creating space to pause, to listen, and to reconnect with ourselves, with one another, and with the natural world around us. As we gather, we will allow Nibi/Mni to be our teacher and our connector.

We will close our evening with a gentle plant walk to the river, taking time to notice and learn from the plants along the way. At the water, we will gather together and offer a song to Nibi/Mni.

Come as you are. Come to listen. Come to share. Come to remember.

Meet and greet plant relatives and follow their lead as we engage in some writing. Listening to our plant relatives can encourage hope and invite healing. Together we will create space to breathe and write in community to compose our own narratives. Join us to enjoy Indigenous food & sink into nurturing community connections. Following a plant walk with Tanaǧidaŋ To Wiŋ, we will continue with a meditative walk, then quilting our observations together into a story or poem. Journals and pens will be provided.

Anna Reid is a practitioner of radical hope, the mother of two adult sons, and the auntie to many. She is a high school English and journalism teacher, a textile artist and instructor. Over the past 20+ years, Anna has expanded her classroom to the waterways, gardens, parks, and theater spaces of the Twin Cities. She draws from her Ojibwe, Dakota, and Swedish heritage to slow down and notice the teachings right in front of us. She finds healing and hope through listening to the teachings of our plant relatives. Anna is a Nibi walker, currently preparing for an elongated ceremonial walk along Ȟaȟá Wakpá (Mississippi River) from the Gulf of Mexico to the headwaters led by Sharon Day.
