OUR STORY
Cadenza Music has been in the same neighborhood of Saint Paul since it was founded in 1974 by Eugene Monnig and Dorothy Sauser-Monnig. Formerly “Harry Blon’s Music Center,” they purchased the music store and continued the business of providing musical instruments for purchase and lease, instrument repair, sheet music, accessories and music lessons to the Twin Cities community. Since then
Cadenza Music has quadrupled its square footage, adding a larger repair shop, more private and group lesson studios, a recital space, and an expanded inventory of products. Cadenza carries band instruments from Yamaha, orchestral instruments from Amati Fine Instruments, Alvarez guitars, Yamaha digital pianos and Amahi ukuleles, and a large variety of sheet music and musical accessories. In January of 2019, former co-owners Eugene Monnig and Nancy Vernon sold Cadenza Music to long time employee, Dan Lehn. Lehn continues to maintain the same level of service and quality for Cadenza’s customers and has expanded the amount of community involvement with music by adding early childhood music programs and hosting music related events.
