CAMPANULA

Campanula is a genus of plants known for their bell-shaped flowers, which come in shades of blue, purple, pink, and white and are popular in gardens as borders, ground covers, or spikes.

They prefer full sun to light shade and well-drained, moist soil, thriving in cooler weather and blooming from late spring through summer.

FUN FACT: They are ENTIRELY EDIBLE
Unlike many ornamental flowers, campanula is non-toxic to humans and pets. Historically, varieties like Rampion were cultivated for their vitamin-rich, parsnip-like roots and leafy greens.

The name derives directly from the Latin word "campana", which translates to "little bell".
