This is full transparency, sharing from us to you. Real people. Not just a marketing company behind a profile. We read all comments and take them seriously. And please, don't react if you're not going to read.
First off, this is NOT a Candyland anniversary post. If you think that, please read again. We’re honoring those we lost in 2001.
For those of you who have sent messages, emails, and comments saying you think we’re gloating… Ew. In no way, shape, or form is this post about how great Candyland is.
Actually, if you’d like some real honesty (unlike all of social media), our business was thriving more so in most of 2001 than it is in 2026.
Like everyone else, we felt like sharing where this business was at that point because so many things have changed in the past 25 years.
Have you ever shared where you were when the attacks on September 11th happened? Yup! We all have. And that was the intention behind this post.
Because in reality, the best way to honor the 2,977 men, women, first responders, pilots, etc., is to keep the conversation going. The more we talk, the more we honor them, and their legacy lives on.
So, to the negative readers and the people who just misunderstand: NO, this is not gloating. This is us keeping the memories alive.
Social media is a dark place in 2026. As a family-owned and operated business, our position has been and always will be to honor on the dark days, but add sunlight to all days.
We’re sure some will read into this, dissect it in the wrong way, and we will delete those comments. Because our reality now is behind a key board, you can say/do whatever you like. This world has too much dark in it for Candyland. And by no means are we looking for sympathy or having a pity party. Our hope by reading this maybe you take more consideration into what you post/share/email, be the difference. Be kind.
Unbelievable. 25 years. 🇺🇸
Many of us honor this day by sharing stories and remembering lost heroes with tales of “Where you were” when the attacks happened on 9/11/2001.
Where was Candyland?! At this time, we had four store locations; St. Paul, 2 in Minneapolis & the Mall of America! Our Stillwater location wasn’t around and we were in the early phases of developing our website, CandylandStore.com! How times change! But one thing remains the same, we take a moment to honor all those who lost lives, who courageously stepped up to help, our first responders & countless others on this day. ❤️🤍💙
