Our mission is to provide the literary-minded residents of St. Pete a place to meet up with each other while finding new quality literature including books in translation, books by marginalized voices, and books from small independent presses, as well as classics and the most outstanding of recent commercial works. After two years of operating as a pop-up bookstore in locations throughout St. Petersburg, Tombolo Books found the perfect location for its brick and mortar at 2153 First Avenue South, next door to Black Crow Coffee and Squeeze Juice Works. Tombolo was founded by the longtime events director of Malaprop’s Bookstore/Café in Asheville, NC, Alsace Walentine.
