To our friends, community, and followers, it’s with a heavy heart that I announce the closing of the Biss brick-and-mortar shop on Front Street in Salem.
Our final in-store shopping days will be from 11/2 - 11/4 and again on 11/8 and 11/9, with a special Biss After Dark event on 11/8—don’t miss it!
I opened Biss at 26 with a lot of big dreams, the support of my family and friends and a streak of fearlessness. Owning this shop has been a wild, exhilarating, and incredible journey! Along the way, I’ve built amazing connections, made lifelong friends, and helped so many of you find unique plants and home treasures.
I’ve tried my best to navigate the challenges of this year, but after months of careful consideration, I’ve made the difficult decision to close our storefront. It’s a bittersweet choice, but one that feels right for both me and the future of Biss.
But this isn’t the end for Biss! While we’re saying goodbye to the physical shop, Biss will continue to grow as a houseplant and textile hub. We’re pivoting to focus on popping up at all your favorite markets this Spring and Summer, especially Bloom in April! You’ll also still find us online and on social media, where we’ll share more content, support your plant needs, and have more space to get creative.
Fulfillment and joy are at the heart of this decision. I want Biss to be a source of inspiration and connection and I’m excited about the opportunities ahead. I hope you’ll stay with us for this next chapter! I’ll keep you updated on our plans and where you’ll find us next.
The support from our community has never been taken for granted. These are challenging times for many, but I’m optimistic about the future of Biss and excited to see where this journey leads us next.
So, it’s not goodbye, just see you soon—at outdoor markets, pop-ups, on social media, our online store, and beyond.
