Calling local pagans! Join us next week, on Wednesday, August 12th, 6:30 to 8pm for Pagans Eating Ice Cream! Followers of any pagan tradition, including solo practitioners, are invited to this casual gathering, where we build connection, community, and a sense of belonging. This is for anyone who has felt isolated in their practice while living in the Witch City.

While we envision Pagans Eating Ice Cream as a regular monthly-ish event at Whimsy's Sweet Life, we will be taking a break for the fall busy season, so we hope you will join us August 12th and then again when we re-convene in November!

It's the great day of 😱🍨😱 – and we have another flavor update to make! Tragically, there is not enough peach available this week to meet the demands of the Ice Scream Bowl, so we are turning instead to one of our Massachusetts classics – the Green Monstah! This one looks like a home run.

Do you like eating ice cream at work? Join the Whimsy's team – we're currently hiring for the fall busy season!

We're seeking a couple of seasonal ice cream scoopers who can start training in August and work through early November. We're also looking for someone to fill the new role of Ice Cream Bouncer – a savvy performer who will help with crowd control and entertain our waiting ice cream line. Ideal candidates bring their own character/costume and are ready to aquire deep knowledge of our ice cream selection!

Lughnasadh (also known as Lammas) celebrates the abundance of high summer and the harvest of grain. We honor Lugh, a celtic deity of light, abundance, and craftsmanship, and his foster-mother Tailtiu who cleared the land for planting. In this season of celebration, the first fruits are gathered, the first loaves are baked, and we call our communities together for the great work and play of bringing in the harvest.

As with all harvest festivals, it is essential to share the bounty of the earth – none of us can truly feel the wholeness of the world until all of us are fed. Whever you are, however much or little you have, somewhere near you there are people going hungry, and people working to end hunger. Our local food bank is The Salem Pantry, and you can make a donation to help nourish the North Shore in honor of this harvest season at https://thesalempantry.org
