These particular Little Heart Felts are small, crocheted stuffed animals called amigurumi. I began creating these little critters and crafts a few years ago. I was crocheting a scarf for someone when I felt the desire to create something more... fun, thoughtful, and challenging. I immediately turned to my favorite search engine and typed "fun crochet." One of the first links was titled "Amigurumi.
" It sounded interesting so I had to take a look. I discovered the Japanese based style of spiral crochet to create small stuffed animals. The initial stuffy was slow going as I had to accustom myself to the spiral stitches and get used to have to keep a stitch tracker to mark my first stitch. My first creation was a lion named Lionel. What's in a name? - Now, you may be wondering, why does she call her stuffed animals "Little Heart Felts?" Good question. I chose the phrase "Little Heart Felts" since many things that touch people's hearts are usually small and thoughtful in some way. Sweet little nothings, heart felt conversation, heart of gold... They mean something big. I would like to think that these little critters and crafts will have a big impact on someone's heart, like you! Creation - Each and every Little Heart Felt is individually crafted with love, care, and attention. Because of their nature each Little Heart Felt is unique and their own. No two critters are exactly the same. All of my Little Heart Felt friends are made with love and care. Often times, I will use worsted weight yarn, cotton thread, and small buttons to complete each Little Heart Felt. Because there are some parts which can create a chocking hazard, these creations are NOT meant for small children. Caring for a Little Heart Felt - If your Little Heart Felts have found themselves to be dirty, use warm water, mild soap, and a damp cloth to gently dab the dirty areas then allow to air dry. Pricing - I base my prices mostly on the time each piece required to create and the items used for its creation. For example, if I used a rare yarn that is only found from the wool of an endangered species of llama which populates the deepest jungles of Yemen (there aren't jungles in Yemen... and I am pretty sure llamas did not populate Yemen as well) and it took twenty hours to create total, I would charge more for that particular piece. In addition, Little Heart Felts that come in sets are going to be prices higher since there are more pieces that need to be made. Each piece generally takes approximately six hours or longer to create. Custom Orders - Right now, I am accepting custom orders. You may place them at [email protected] or private message me if you know me personally. Please provide as much detail as possible including colors. There is a vast difference between royal purple and lavender. Materials - I use worsten weight yarn, small plastic buttons, cotton thread, cotton embroidery floss, felt, and polyfiber filling. As for the crocheting, I usually use an E sized hook. I have a wide range of colors for all of my materials to help meet creative needs. If I do not have a color needed to a particular, I will gladly locate and purchase that color. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at [email protected] or private message me. WARNING: Please use your best judgment when giving a Little Heart Felt to a child under the age of 12 as the small buttons can create a choking hazards. Little Heart Felts are not intended for small children or pets unless otherwise noted.
