Butterfly w**d (Asclepias tuberosa) is a showy, drought-tolerant perennial native to North America, known for its bright orange (or sometimes yellow/red) flower clusters that attract pollinators, especially monarch butterflies, for which it serves as a crucial host plant. Unlike most milkw**ds, its sap is not milky, and it forms bushy clumps with deep taproots, making it a great, non-invasive plant for sunny borders and dry soils.
