Mid-America Garden is a Bearded Iris Nursery that introduces Tall Bearded, Border Bearded, Miniature Tall Bearded, Intermediate Bearded, Standard Dwarf Bearded, Miniature Dwarf Bearded, and Arilbred introductions by Thomas Johnson, Paul Black, Lynda Miller and Barry Blyth in Salem, Oregon and is on the same location as Sebright Garden which specializes in Hostas, Ferns, and Epimediums.

Going Concern (T Johnson '26) This is a very unique and interesting combination of colors. Strong growth on this early flowering variety. Good stems and buds and also proving to be a very interesting parent.

Dance Off (T Johnson '21) Continuing with the bicolor theme, here is Dance Off. Really a beautiful color combination, with large ruffled flowers on well branched stems. Very healthy clean blue green foliage as well.

Word For Word (T Johnson '23) bicolors were the first pattern I was attracted to when I started growing iris as a child. There has been a lot of advancements in them since then with much wider and ruffled falls and many with clean hafts like Word For Word. The form on Word For Word is perfection with great stems and growth, truly a very classy iris.

We Are Magic (T Johnson '24) Not a lot of the rimmed bicolor iris have pink as a base color. We Are Magic is also a great parent for some pretty fun new and different color combinations and patterns that are starting to emerge. There will be some future intros from its genetics for sure. We Are Magic is in itself a stunning iris and a bit hard to capture its true splendor on film. Well worth growing!!

Something To Talk About (T Johnson '24) Large, wide and ruffled flowers in a very sharp bicolor pattern. Incredible stems that will certainly be in contention on the show bench! Stunning!

Bashful Look ( T Johnson '21) Such a unique shade of pink with the frosted lavender blue beard, makes quite a stunning combination. One that we admire each year. Great stems and growth don't hurt it either. Really a great iris!

Brilliant Debut (T Johnson '23) This is an early variety. Creates a nice bright spot in garden early in the season. It is pretty hard to miss this one, it shines from across the fields.

Beautician (T Johnson '19) Beautician is a solid performer for us in the fields year after year, never failing to delight. It is a strong grower with larger showy flowers.

Makeup Artist (T Johnson '26) A very tall iris with incredible show stems. Large ruffled flowers, are well formed, and the color is very showy and unique. Even with all this going for it, the thing that stands out the most for me, is the growth, it is a very fast increaser and strong grower. Just a very good iris all around.

See That Girl (T Johnson '26) We keep working on refining the blue bearded pinks for stems, ruffles, and depth of color. See That Girl is a beautiful creation with large ruffled flowers.
