Olive Wood Creations From Bethlehem to Jerusalem, Christian artisans make their living producing olive wood carvings for pilgrims who visit the Holy Land annually. Blessings!

Olive Wood Creations was established to support this small population of Christians. The hope of these families is to keep their traditions alive. In the past, the continuing unrest in the Holy Land has caused many people to leave their trades, close their businesses and, even flee to other countries escaping unbearable daily life. There are about a dozen Christian families today who continue to p

ass down this artisanship. This would not be possible without the support of pilgrims and Christians all over the world receiving these beautiful works of art. The significance of Olive Wood is eminent in the Bible, from the peace dove carrying the olive branch to Jesus praying under the olive tree in the garden of Gethsemane following the Last Supper. The olive tree continues to be seen as the symbol of peace, fertility, and prosperity that it has always been. The process of bringing these carvings to life is long and tedious, and could take more than a month depending on the size and detail the specific piece requires. The tonal depth of the wood depends upon the age of the tree; the older the tree, the darker the grain. Olive wood's grain is very noticeable and brings a unique mixture of shades and dimension to a piece. These trees are very much cherished in the Holy Land as they're pruned every year providing an annual supply of olive oil to local families. No trees are ever cut down or damaged in order to begin the process. This letter certifies that the material used in our olive wood products is genuine olive wood of the best quality.
