Ready for the next chapter: It was a great couple of years, friends. But the board game industry is changing and I fear not many businesses can compete with Amazon, Target, and bookstores. We were plenty busy and had a great experience, loved creating a community space, but in the end we were not at all close to being viable. We’ll post here when we find a new location.

We are grateful for the time everyone spends at Second Realm and continue to be busy, yet we are struggling to monetize what we offer. We know that the economy is tough, but without some miracle we will be closing our doors soon. We are absolutely gutted and know how important this space has become for so many.

Some have suggested MTG, or events with a cover charge, or even a table fee for open play games. We wonder about after school events, or offering an annual membership which includes a free boba per month. Others are vehemently objecting to the suggestions as they enjoy the open free community atmosphere.

We are asking for any ideas as we decide how long to wait out the losses. If anyone is aware of a less expensive location, we are open to that as well. We will continue to post updates and hope we can weather the storm. 😕

It’s Christmas in July… well, June☺️. We have gotten our summer stock in and are busy unpacking and setting up the new games! It’s terribly exciting, and a tad frustrating because we want to play every single game 🤣

We have some “new” trade-ins on Open Play! These all look very fun!

With spring here and summer fast approaching we want to remind everyone we are open every afternoon and evening except Monday. Feel free to bring in your favorite board games or enjoy our vastly growing open play stock! The tv/gaming area is available with limited games. Remember to limit your time in that space to take turns with other customers and keep your content family friendly if kiddos are around. 😁
