The collectible card game market can be an enjoyable hobby but before you spend big money, you need to be able to identify fake cards. We can help you identify fake cards at Comic Monstore. We use a jeweler's loupe and know how to distinguish real cards from fake cards, and we don't mind sharing that knowledge. Just ask.

Unfortunately, we just broke some bad news to a customer that purchased a $150 card from another local card shop. After buying it, he became suspicious of it and asked us to check it. It was fake and he was out of $150. Be particularly careful when buying cards at flea markets, antique malls, or other multi-vendor venues. We're not saying that there was intentional deception but if a vendor isn't checking more expensive cards, their ignorance is not a good excuse.

Other reputable local shops that we know make efforts to identify fakes include Mighty Meeple and Buzz City Games.

Here's a friendly neighborhood reminder. We encourage opening a subscription box with us and utilizing League of Comic Geeks (www.leagueofcomicgeeks.com) to inform us of what books you are interested in. We order pretty close to our subscription numbers, so the more info we have, the better we can serve you. If you subscribe to at least 5 monthly ongoing titles, you receive a 10% discount on all comics on our wall of newer comics.

FOC stands for Final Order Cutoff. That's the last date that a comic shop can preorder comics with distributors and be guaranteed the requested quantities. After the FOC date, some titles may still be available to order for a few weeks but that's not always the case. If you definitely want a particular book, we must know by Final Order Cutoff dates.

We hold comic books for subscription holders for 31 days. After 31 days, we may close your subscription box and return the books to the shelves. Communication is very important. If you need a little more time than 31 days, talk to us and we'll try to work with you. If you've been a loyal customer for a long time, of course we'll try to accommodate.
