Minnesota-based Black and Somali student organizations have called on the nation to act in a nationwide general strike.

Ken Sanders Rare Books supports their demands that I.C.E. get out of communities, in Minnesota, in Utah and everywhere. Policing systems like I.C.E. are inherently violent and invade our communities using fear and intimidation.

We will be open our 10am - 6pm as a warming community space since we are just across the street from Washington Square. We will have masks, donuts, hot chocolate, and coffee while supplies last.

Come by and make signs, or talk to community organizers and get resources to push your actions beyond protest participation. We will also have games out for people to come and spend time in the store without pressure to purchase anything.

We will be donating 10% of any sales made to our favorites here in Utah as well as in Minnesota.

Recommendations for how YOU can get involved:
-STRIKE! Call our of work or school if you can and halt your shopping habits
-ATTEND one of the two different events happening this Friday:
PROTEST at WASHINGTON SQUARE at 2pm organized by
DEMONSTRATION at PIONEER PARK organized by .world
-DONATE to organizations on the ground, both in Minneapolis and here in our local community.

We are so excited to announce an author event we are extremely excited for.... on March 5th at 7pm we will see you all at the main library for:

TERRY TEMPEST WILLIAMS in conversation with KEN SANDERS

Terry and Ken have been lifelong friends after working together at Weller's bookstore in their youth. This conversation is sure to create an intimate and thoughtful evening for us all. Its the first book tour of Terry's since 2019 and we are so excited to have her back warming up at our hearth.

Ticket to the event is free with a purchase of a signed copy of Terry Tempest Williams' new book The Glorians: Visitations from the Holy Ordinary. Available now at the link in our bio!

Please note: Terry will not be signing anything the night of the event but we will be having an after party with food and music back at the bookstore after the talk.

Every Saturday through April 18th KSRB is proud to welcome the Winter Farmers Market to our building on Library Square.

Join and their 75 vendors proferring hand made goods, hand grown food, home raised meats and other products

In the spirit of the winter market, KSRB is curating its own tables of Local authors and artists books and prints including:
Trent Harris, Kate MacLeod, Utah Phillips, Trent Call, Leia Bell, Scott Carrier, Alex Caldidro Scottie Mitchell, Edward Abbey and many more.

We have also set out tables full of books priced at $5. Vinyl records, dvds, magazines and more. These tables will be disappearing in February so come in and take advantage of these sales!
