Okay, you guys—I know everyone has been waiting for this! Sorry things take me so long. I’ve had some personal things going on, and every single year I swear I’m going to be ready for the holidays…and somehow I never am. 😂

But I finally figured out this vegan candy corn, and let me tell you: this was no easy task.

First, I had to make all the tiny candy corn shapes and mount them onto a board. Then I had to create the recipe. After that, I built my own handmade cornstarch-molding setup—the same basic process the big candy companies use with their starch-mogul machines.

The difference? Their process is automated. We are filling every single cavity by hand: first the white, then the orange, and then the yellow. I accidentally mixed up the orange and yellow on my first try, but I am literally SO CLOSE!

Watch for updates because these babies will be dropping soon! Fair warning: they’re going to be a little expensive because they are a gigantic pain in the ass to make by hand. Until I have a whole lot of money to buy more machines, this is how we do it—one tiny candy corn at a time.

Okay, you guys, I know I’ve been a little quiet on social media, and honestly, it’s because I’ve been really sad.

I have some heartbreaking news to share about Roady. Yesterday, they had to euthanize him because he wasn’t improving. Birds are incredibly good at hiding their injuries, and although there wasn’t any visible blood or an obvious skull injury, they believe Roady suffered severe head trauma—possibly from being hit by a car.

When I saw him sitting in the middle of the road, I couldn’t just keep driving. We truly tried everything we could to save him, and I would do it all over again. If there’s even a chance to save a life, I will always try.

Thank you so much to everyone who donated toward Roady’s care. There is still about $377 remaining on his medical bills from the emergency treatment and overnight stay. If you can spare even a few dollars, you can donate in either of these ways:
