Hello everyone, I am Orient Invincible.
As a Chinese woman who married into the
U.S., I grew up listening to neighbors talk about America, and many people around me ended up moving here too. But it was only when I actually stepped onto this foreign land that I truly realized how challenging the phrase "when in Rome, do as the Romans do" really is. Trying to integrate into this local culture while using our native Chinese mindset is no easy task, yet everyone here is working so hard to adapt.
For us Chinese living overseas, surviving and making a name for ourselves often comes down to entrepreneurship. Opening restaurants is the most common path-bringing authentic Chinese cuisine to America while blending Western and Eastern flavors.
Even though many have settled here for twenty or even thirty years, the lineage running through our veins and our deep reverence for our ancestors are things that will never change.
Over the past twenty-plus years, I have been involved in the restaurant industry as well as several other businesses, witnessing the countless ups and downs of people around me. Some succeeded, while others failed. But loften found myself asking: why do some friends fail even when they give it their absolute all and work relentlessly day and night? Where exactly does the problem lie?
Building a business requires a client base and networks, but there must be an invisible detail that we've overlooked all along. I've heard too many stories of people facing the exact same situation-a big deal that seemed set in stone suddenly falling through for no apparent reason...
Later on, perhaps through a truly special twist of fate, I found the answer that can genuinely shift one's fortune and bring real transformation. It is something many friends living in North America may have never deeply considered.
After experiencing it firsthand, I noticed that everything around me began to shift-my family life, my relationships, and even my physical well-being. I shared this with a few close friends, and after giving it a try, they experienced profound changes as well. This made me believe even more strongly that every person striving in a foreign land has the opportunity to achieve this kind of transformation.
To be continued...
