🥒💗 STITCHING FRIENDS ARE A BIG DILL!

I’m working on my table mate gifts, and this time I decided to celebrate something I think we can ALL agree on…

Stitching friends are a BIG DEAL.
Or, in this case… a BIG DILL. 🤭😉🥒

My cross stitch friends needed their very own mini pickle piñata! 🎉🥒

And because a pickle without a little sweetness just wouldn’t do… they’re filled with pink & green candy! 💗💚

But wait… there’s more! 👀

Each table mate will also get:
🧵 Floss drops
🥒 Annie’s pickle pattern
🍬 This tiny pickle piñata full of candy
💗 And a whole lotta stitching-friend love

Because let’s be honest… the right stitching friends are worth their weight in floss. 😉

They cheer you on, enable your project purchases, understand why you absolutely needed another pattern, and never question why you brought stitching supplies to every event you attended 😂

My retreat friends really ARE a big dill 🥒💗

Sin is always crouching at the door. The question is—are you letting it rule you, or are you mastering it?

The story of Cain and Abel has been on my heart.

Abel brought the firstlings of his flock—the very best—to the Lord, and God respected his offering. Cain also brought an offering, but his heart wasn’t right, and God did not accept it. Cain became angry, and his countenance fell. God warned him:
“If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? And if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door.”

And then—the very first murder.

I’ve been reflecting on this the last few days. I’m not surprised by people’s behavior, because you cannot govern bad behavior. More laws won’t change the heart. If anything, they often stir up more rebellion.

This should cause us to pause and self-reflect instead of pointing fingers. How are you responding? What emotions are rising up in your heart? You can deceive others, even yourself, but you can never deceive God. Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.

What we see in our nation today is division—but that division only reflects what is already in people’s hearts. You can secretly feel one thing and say another, but over time the truth always comes out.

Here’s the reality: you will never change the world until you first change yourself. Accountability matters. Until we take responsibility for our own thoughts, beliefs, and actions, we don’t have the right to sit in judgment of others.

Cain ignored God’s warning, and sin ruled him. The same warning is given to us today: sin is crouching at the door 🪞

Prayer:
Lord, search my heart and reveal what is hidden. Help me to give You my best, to guard my thoughts, and to master what would try to master me. Keep me from anger, envy, and bitterness, and fill me with Your Spirit so that my life reflects You. Amen.

⭐️ FIVE-STAR BEHAVIOR ⭐️

If you’re my age or older, you probably remember getting a gold star at school. ⭐️

A gold star meant you made a good choice, did a great job, got a good grade, or simply did something worth recognizing.

And honestly… I kind of love that this trend brings that feeling back.

Because as adults, we don’t get many gold stars anymore.

So I started thinking…

What are the things people do that deserve a gold star? ⭐️

Not the big, flashy things.

The little things.
The things that cost something.
The things other people might not understand.
The things that make you think, “Yep… those are my people.”

Here are mine…

⭐️ THE SMALL ONE
I remember the little things people tell me.

Not because I’m trying to impress anyone. I just genuinely care. The project you’re working on. Your grandbaby’s name. Something you were excited about. Something you were struggling with.

Because I think remembering says, “You mattered enough for me to remember.” ❤️

⭐️ THE ONE THAT COSTS
I choose kindness when I could choose to be offended.

And whew… sometimes that costs me.

It means biting my tongue. Giving someone the benefit of the doubt. Choosing not to match someone’s energy. Walking away from drama instead of feeding it.

Because I’ve learned that sometimes peace is more valuable than being right.

⭐️ THE UNPOPULAR ONE
I don’t believe everything needs to be shared.

Not every disagreement needs an audience.
Not every hurt needs a post.
Not every opinion needs to be defended.

My integrity matters more to me than winning a public argument.

⭐️ THE ONE THAT SORTS
I believe you can love people without competing with them.

Your success doesn’t threaten mine.
Your beautiful finish doesn’t make mine less beautiful.
Your new start doesn’t mean I need one.
Your gifts don’t diminish mine.

There is room at the stitching table for all of us. 💕😉🫶🏻❤️
Maybe that’s what I love most about this trend.
We may be grown women now, but every once in a while…
We still deserve a gold star for making good choices. ⭐️

What gets a gold star from you?
Tell me one thing someone does that makes you think, “Yep… those are my people.” 👇🏻

There will always be someone who thinks you buy too much cross stitch stuff.

Too many patterns.
Too much fabric.
Too much floss.
Too many scissors.
Too many accessories.

And to those people I simply say…

Mind your business, Karen. 🤭😉🤣

My stash is not a problem.
It’s a collection of future happiness. 😏🧵

Besides, I could have a much worse hobby.

Like… being interested in what other people do with their money. 🤷🏼‍♀️😂🙄

So go ahead, buy the pattern.
Get the fabric.
Grab the thread.
Add the scissors to the cart.

Your people will understand. Your people will encourage you. And your people will probably ask, “Ooooh, where’d you get that?!” Send me a link 🔗😂❤️

Tag your stitchy enabler—the one who will NEVER tell you that you have enough. She understands, A girls gotta do what a girls gotta do 😂👇🏻

Listen… I don’t have a project problem.

I have a too-many-pretty-patterns-and-not-enough-hours-in-the-day problem. 😏

Now be honest… how many WIPs are you currently juggling? 👀🤷🏼‍♀️

I promise, there’s no judgment here. 😂👇🏻

Jesus does not love a future, improved version of you. He loves you right now. ❤️

You don’t have to fix every weakness, overcome every struggle, or become “good enough” before you can be confident in His love.

Romans 5:8 says, “While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

He didn’t wait for us to get better before He loved us.

He loved us right where we were.

But sometimes the message gets distorted.

Satan is a liar and a deceiver, and one of the ways he works is by twisting God’s truth in our minds.

God says, “I’m correcting you because I love you.”

The enemy whispers, “God is disappointed in you. He’s rejecting you. You’re not good enough.”

God says, “Come closer.”

The enemy says, “Hide.”

And sometimes we mistake God’s correction for rejection.

But correction is not rejection.

A loving Father doesn’t watch His child heading toward something harmful and simply let them continue. He redirects them. He warns them. He corrects them.

Not because He loves them less…

but because He loves them too much to leave them where they are.

Grace doesn’t mean our choices don’t matter. Jesus loves us too much to celebrate the things that destroy us.

But His correction isn’t, “Become better so I can love you.”

It is, “I love you, so let Me transform you.”

So when you mess up, don’t run from God.

When you fall back into an old habit, don’t hide.

When you’ve been distant, don’t believe you have to earn your way back into His presence.

Come to Him.

The cross already settled the question of whether you are loved.

His correction is not rejection.
His conviction is not condemnation.
His discipline is not abandonment.

You are loved. You are wanted. You are His. ❤️

Don’t let the enemy distort the message.

God corrects you because He loves you.

And because you are already loved, He is lovingly leading you into who He created you to be.

I got to go see my grandpup this weekend! 🥰🐾

Meet Wrangler! He has over 30,000 followers 🤭 so basically, he’s more famous than I am. 😂

Wrangler is an Irish Wolfhound, just 9 months old, and already weighs 120 pounds! 😳 He has the sweetest personality and is such a gentle giant.

The only problem is… he thinks he’s a lap dog. 🤣

And honestly, when you look at that sweet face, it’s pretty hard to tell him NO 🤭❤️🐾
