As we wrap up the month of May, I found myself inspired by the season.

After one of the rainiest springs we've seen in over a decade here in South Texas, this collection became a reflection of those small moments that follow a storm: The Passing Rain, The Morning Dew, The First Bloom, The Morning Light, and The Wildflowers that look like a hand-painted field (thank you, Lady Bird).

A Spring Morning is a collection inspired by the colors, atmosphere, and quiet beauty of a spring morning.

Shipping this Gal out to her forever home and wanted to share a little of the inspiration behind this piece.

She was heavily inspired by The Accolade by Edmund Leighton, a 19th century painting that I have a print of hanging in my space. I stare at it daily, and I kept finding myself coming back to it. Thinking about that moment of being “knighted” and what that actually means. What it feels like, what it represents, especially as a woman. In that painting, power is given.

With this piece, I wanted to explore the juxtaposition. What if it was never something that had to be given at all? The sword became less about status or ceremony and more about something internal. Truth, boundaries, integrity, internal sovereignty. That quiet knowing you carry when you trust yourself. The kind of power that doesn’t come from permission.

Thus, The Sword Within was born! ⚔️❤️
